Peasmarsh is a small village, based mainly along one main street, the A268, with some development off this road. Population is approximately 1,000 adults. There is a primary school in the village, with a secondary school in nearby Rye.
The parish stretches south from the border between Kent and Sussex along the River Rother, to the River Tillingham. The whole lying within the High Weald AOND to the west of Rye. Much of the land is typical of Wealden countryside, small woods and pasture with some remaining orchards.
A Norman church lies on land to the south.
